Rachael Downs is one of Australia's most successful international riders, having represented Australia at the Olympics, World Cup and World Championships. Her first truly international partnership was with Yardley Charisma and, later, Yardley Aphrodite, two of the best dressage mares Australia has known. Both mares went on to become successful broodmares. Rachael is now riding the prodigiously-talented Albert, bred and owned by her mother, and out of Aphrodite.
Rachael had her first ride in a Kieffer Sydney saddle at the 2011 Saddleworld Dressage Festival, winning every test she entered and setting record scores. "I have always had Kieffer saddles," she says. "When the opportunity came up, I couldn't resist the Sydney. Since my accident, I have had a recurring back injury and this saddle is just fantastic for relieving the pain I've previously experienced. The saddle is fully adjustable, so has been perfectly fitted to my horse. I can feel the difference and I'll be happy to talk to anyone who asks me!"
